Barcelona's Airport

El Prat Airport is situated about 12 km from central Barcelona in the El Prat de Llobregat district.  This is the second largest airport in Spain which has three runways and two passenger terminals, (T1 and T2).  Because of the airport's size, it is important to remember, when making a booking for the Aerobús or for a taxi, to indicate the correct terminal which can be checked on your flight reservation.  After you have collected your suitcase from the luggage belt, (if you have checked in any luggage), take the escalator and head towards the terminal's exit.  Just outside the building, you will see the taxi drivers with their cabs parked outside.  If you wish, you can book a taxi in advance with Barcellona.shop, and we would recommend the service that is on offer from Taxi Leader: book Barcelona Airport Taxi.  If, on the other hand, you would prefer to use the service provided by Terravision in collaboration with the Barcelona Aerobús, all you'll need to do is to turn right at the exit from the terminal or on the square where the Aerobús stop is clearly visible.  The average journey time from the airport to the city center is around 35 minutes, both by car and by bus, but this can obviously vary depending on the traffic and which stop you require.

The Aerobús in Barcelona

in order to reach the center of Barcelona, the quickest and cheapest option is undoubtedly the Aerobús: a modern blue and white colored bus service.  A one way ticket costs €5.90 but if you purchase a return ticket, the cost is €10.20.  You can catch a bus very easily as you exit the terminal, (they run every 5 to 10 minutes), and then sit back and relax as you are driven into the center of the city by someone who knows Barcelona like the back of his hand.  The easiest option is to get off at the end of the route in the Plaza Catalunya where you can continue your journey on foot, on the Metro or with the train service. In any event, the bus stops at a variety of strategic locations in the city, such as: the Gran Via - Urgell, Plaza de Espanya and Plaza Universitat. Another of the great advantages of taking the Aerobús is that it runs until 12:30 at night (towards the airport) and until 01:00 (towards the city).
